Actual Date: October 6
Our day today started very bright and early. Josh was heading out to the Catalyst Conference. Part of his job was to save seats...so he had to leave by 5:00am. Crazy. My morning was early too. I wasn't going to Catalyst, but I was babysitting that morning for Eliana and Isaiah because their parents were. Getting two little ones off to school is a lot more involved than just getting myself to class. It was a lot of fun and they were very well behaved which made it a lot of fun!
Josh had the opportunity to go to Catalyst and to have lunch with Francis Chan.

"The one with the close proximity to Francis Chan"
Jordan: I am so excited that you got to have this experience!
Josh: Catalyst is an amazing experience. This was the second year I have gone and I have never been disappointed. The speakers are great. The worship is Spirit filled. I always leave challenged and inspired. As a part of this experience I was able to go to a lunch with Francis Chan and around 40 other people. He explained his background and the ministry he is currently involved before taking questions. This was special to me as I have looked up to Francis Chan for some time. When he was the pastor at Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, California I listened to his podcasts. I have read his books and heard him speak, and have been impressed with everything he does. With that being said, I had hyped this lunch too much by the time it actually came. I set myself up for huge disappointment if he didn't live up to his persona in real life. However, he was the same in person as he is on stage and in his books. He is so genuine and always seems in pursuit of God and truth. In seeing him in this smaller setting he was very humble and put God first in everything. He was very aware of his dependance on God. May God continue to bless him, his family and his ministry.
This was a highlight of Catalyst for me, although there were several other great things I learned that I won't share here. Besides there should be more to come tomorrow as there were two days of Catalyst.
