Day 39

Today we headed to St. Augustine! 

At the visitor center we met these folks:

Jordan: although they were entertaining, I don't know why they were there. 

Josh: As you can see, I had fun here and we weren't even to the cool stuff yet.

THE FORT!

Jordan:  The fort was really incredible to see.  If you're in St. Augustine, I recommend it. 

Josh: They said people didn't live here unless the fort was under siege, which only happened once. When it happened though 1500 people lived here for two months, pretty incredible.

Jordan:  I don't know why we there were so many canon pictures (i think there are about 14)  but i felt the need to share. 

Josh: Canons are pretty hip, and fun for photos.

Downtown shopping and lunch:

Jordan: That store was amazing. I am hoping to make it back there this week! The tacos were great! yummy...but not as good as the place in YBor.   Jill is still right, those were the best tacos ever. 

Josh: True, they weren't the best tacos ever, but they were pretty good, and my mom never would have eaten there if she wasn't with us. Eat regional.

Cathedral:

Jordan:  This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.  

Josh: Light a candle. Your prayers will linger longer. Cathedrals are very special places that I really enjoy visiting.

Yummy seafood dinner in Jacksonville at Singletons:

Jordan: The food there was delicious!  Jacksonville has great food!

Josh: There were shrimp boats off the back of this restaurant. So much fried seafood goodness, we ate conch fritters, oysters, scallops, fish, clam strips. Then I made friends with a shark.
